Crape Myrtles are small to medium sized trees that bloom for 90-100 days. They love the hot full sun, and come in red white pink and purples. The national arboretum has developed varieties know as the Indian tribe varieties that are resistant to powdery mildew and aphids. (Problems that are prevelant in the old varieties. Natchez, Arapahoo, Tonto, are but a few.)
